Each gig is run like a contest, and its sponsors award the winner with the opportunity they competed for. For professional remix artists it’s an essential service — Indaba caters to profesional remixers. With reasonable rates that top out at 25 bucks a month, it’s a good investment for many different kinds of independent musicians. Always be wary of pay-to-play though.
